How to Trim Your Eyebrows Without Messing Them Up

Brows
can make or break your face, and sometimes, you don’t have time to
visit a professional. If you just need a subtle trim on a few hairs
before filling in, fear not – we have some tips to make the process
less intimidating.

1)
Comb hairs in direction they naturally go with a spoolie. Only brush
the front portion up and do a very minor trim without touching your
shape.

2)
Do not comb all of your hairs upward rather than just the front –
this causes sparse areas and weird dips that will take months to fill
out.

3)
Take time to evaluate before you continue. Sometimes, it’s easy to
just keep maintaining, and maintaining, and maintaining, until you
have no brows at all.

4)
Invest in a mascara wand and angled eyebrow trimming scissors. You
can even use curved nail scissors if you’re on a budget.

5)
Sometimes you need to tweeze instead of trimming – this is the
perfect in-between tip between trim sessions.

6)
Tweeze or trim with a regular mirror instead of a magnifying mirror.
Sometimes, a magnifying mirror can cause you to remove too much hair.

7)
The smaller the scissors, the more control you’ll have over your
brow shape and the final product.

8)
Understand your eyebrow shape – if you have a square jaw, softly
rounded brows are better than trimming round or angular, and if you
have a heart faced shape, brows too strong will overwhelm your face
shape.

9)
Another thing that causes you to remove too much hair is not
trimming in natural light. Always try to do your brows in natural
light and if you do overdo it, fill it in with pencil or powder.

10)
Don’t use an old toothbrush to brush your brows instead of a
mascara brush. Doing so can result in an infection.

11) Never trim in the middle of the brow – use the natural line of the hair that extend above the top line to avoid making holes.
